🌟 Five days of tech, innovation, and unforgettable learning at Shaastra 2026!

Just wrapped up an incredible experience at Shaastra 2026, IIT Madras' annual technical festival (January 2-6, 2026). As someone passionate about citizen science and biodiversity research, attending one of India's largest student-run tech festivals was eye-opening!

IIT Madras opened its research facilities to 80,000+ visitors through the "Annaivarum IITM" initiative. This was transformative:

• 🔬 Exploring Research Labs: I walked through multiple laboratories across campus, seeing cutting-edge research infrastructure firsthand. From advanced experimental setups to ongoing projects—each lab visit deepened my understanding of how theoretical science becomes practical innovation. The access to equipment and researchers was invaluable.

• 📊 130+ Innovation Stalls: These weren't just displays—they were interactive learning experiences. Student projects on robotics, biomimicry, AI applications, and sustainability solutions lined the campus. I spent hours at different stalls gathering information about technologies applicable to ecological monitoring, data analysis, and conservation work. The diversity of ideas and the depth of knowledge sharing was phenomenal.
